Our client is an award winning ALMO (Arm's Length Management Organisation). They are a not-for-profit company set up in 2008 to deliver high quality housing services for residents living in over 21,000 homes in East London, including 9,700 leasehold homes and 11,500 tenanted homes. In addition, there are around 350 Right to Buy Freeholders who pay a service charge.

They have travelled a long way in the past few years and have built a strong track record in improving their performance and delivering quality services to their residents and communities. This was a major factor in the recent decision of their sole shareholder (the London Borough of Tower Hamlets) to extend their management agreement by a further eight years from July 2020. Following this decision, they have shaped a new business plan – Create Great – to give them focus over the coming years.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Surveyor to join their Capital Delivery Team, providing the full range of technical support and contract administration functions as part of their Better Neighbourhoods Programme, designed to maintain and keep safe the Borough’s Housing Stock and Built Environment to meet statutory and corporate requirements, stakeholder priorities to ensure best practice.

The Surveyor they are looking for will be working within their internal project teams and will be responsible for overseeing capital programme schemes from inception to completion, which includes assisting in the delivery of specialist Fire Safety work, and major refurbishment works etc.

About you:

They are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking, and experienced Surveyor to provide specialist technical surveying expertise, with a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for the delivery of works to time, budget, and quality, with great administrative skills.

You will have excellent communication and customer services skills, as well as an ability to build relationships with their internal and external stakeholders and customers and to explain technically complex schemes, in non-technical language.
