Smile Education are supply agency based in Central Birmingham. We are currently looking to recruit a number of Key Stage 1 and 2 Teachers to assist our client schools in their supply needs. Candidates post NQT and Teach First Graduate are encouraged to apply.

With the effects of COVID-19 the need for supply teachers across the South Birmingham and Solihull area is even more robust than usual. Schools are looking for experienced Class Teachers to provide good quality cover to ensure pupils continue to make good progress following the lock-downs. Supply work is on an ad-hoc basis and can vary from a single day to a two week booking (for example in the case of self-isolation).

We are currently searching for Key Stage 1 and 2 Teachers, from April 2021. Year group allocation would depend on the applicant’s placement history and specialism. Candidate’s should be familiar with the UK Primary Curriculum and schemes of work such as White Rose Maths and Jolly Phonics.  Opportunities do exist for longer-term placements should applicants wish to pursue this at a later date.

We are looking for candidates in and around the South Birmingham area; including, Moseley, Kings Heath, Maypole, Yardley Wood, Hall Green, and Solihull. We work very closely with our client schools to ensure we find you the best possible roles in schools which will compliment your own style as a practitioner.

What to expect from applicants?

We are looking for exceptionally dedicated Teachers who want to make an impact on the lives of the pupils they work with. Working with these young people means you can make a real and significant impact on their lives and that’s what being a teacher is all is about- Ambition and a commitment to school community is key!

We would like applicants to have demonstrative experience in working with either Key Stage 1 or 2 and knowledge of Development Matters Framework and SATs Preperation. Familiarity with specific schemes of work such as Jolly Phonics, Maths Mastery and Talk 4 Writing is preferrable but not essential.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

–        Hold a relevant UK Teaching Qualification with QTS

–        Knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum

–        Able and willing to travel to the Birmingham area
