Smile Education are working on behalf of a Birmingham Primary School to assist in their recruitment of a SEND Teaching Assistant. This three-form entry Primary situated slightly North of Central Birmingham currently holds opportunities for experienced Teaching Assistants looking for a change of pace of a new challenge.

We are currently searching for a SEND Teaching Assistant, from September 2021. This is a full-time long-term role. The successful applicant will be assisting two pupils in EYFS and Key Stage 1. Both pupils are on the Autistic Spectrum with mild ASC. This role is ideal for anyone who is looking to gain more experience in supporting learners with SEND, anyone who has 3-6 months experience in supporting learners with SEND is encouraged to apply. You will be working mainly on a 1:1 basis to provide support within the classroom or targeted intervention where necessary. Opportunities do exist for applicants to receive further training and for the role to progress into a HLTA role.

We would like applicants to have experience in supporting learners with the UK or a British International School setting.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

–        Hold a relevant UK teaching assistant qualification- for example Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools.

–        Knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum

–        Able and willing to travel to the Birmingham area.
