We are looking for a passionate, experienced and focused Hospital Director to oversee a mental health hospital in the Middlesbrough area.

As the Hospital Director you will lead the Senior Management team on site on all aspects of day to day business. You will have full clinical and commercial control of the facility and work to develop a coherent and effective team who provide the quality care our patients deserve.

Key Responsibilities of a Hospital Director:

To provide in line with their policies, leadership, guidance and management to all staff within their sphere of responsibility.

To actively participate in appropriate clinical meetings.

To ensure a high standard of nursing care in the application of clinical nursing procedures and treatment, in accordance with best practice guidelines.

Ensure strong relationships are developed with regulatory bodies, commissioners and families.

To act as an ambassador for the organisation, creating opportunities to enhance the organisation’s external performance, profile and reputation amongst key audiences and support strategic alliances in line with corporate and Business Plan objectives.

Implement and maintain key management information systems to demonstrate the performance of the services in line with the organisational strategy, self-evaluation reports & improvement plans. Deliver against KPI’s in line with contractual obligations.

Key Skills needed to be a Hospital Director:

Strategic management skills 

Good knowledge of Regulatory bodies and process and standards/criteria for inspections.

Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.

Be able to recognise and manage risks.

Observational and analytical skills.

IT skills, and competent in Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point

Experience needed to be a Hospital Director:

Nursing qualified.

Have been a Hospital Director of a service that specialises in patients with severe and enduring mental health.

Hold a relevant management qualification, for example a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services would be preferred.

Experience and/or knowledge and ability to undertake all aspects of staff management responsibilities.

Management of the Quality Assurance systems.

Experience and/or ability to manage set budget responsibilities.
