Health & Safety Consultant – Halesowen

Salary – £25k – £33k + Car + Fuel Card

Due to an increasing workload, our client are now looking for a qualified Health and Safety Consultant to join the Safety Health and Environmental (SHE)  team in there Halesowen office.

Our client is a leading firm for delivering environmental services across the industry.   The firm provides a full range of environmental services for local government, housing associations, universities, schools, national retailers, NHS trusts, the hotel and leisure industry, demolition and construction companies, manufacturing, logistics and commercial businesses. The Role

The position requires the candidate to provide services to members of our Health and Safety membership scheme and to other external clients as required.

Duties also include assisting with our inhouse health and safety management requirements.

Undertaking risk assessments of our client’s businesses and processes.

Compiling new and reviewing existing policies and other documents in relation to the health and safety management of our client’s organisations.

Undertaking audits of the clients’ organisation against their health and safety management policies, processes and procedures.

Undertaking COSHH assessments on behalf of our clients.

Accident and incident investigations as required.

Delivery of a range of training courses.

Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments.

Assisting clients with SSIP applications.

Occasional working and staying away from home is a requirement of the role.

Skills and Experience

Hold NCRQ Level 6 Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum

At least 5 good grade GCSE’s (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language.

Good I.T skills and knowledge.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Work experience within a health and safety environment.

Experience of working as part of a team and on your own.

Ability to learn and research new information as required to assist a wide range of clients from various industries.

Full driving licence.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm (some flexibility required to meet the need of the business). Salary is negotiable per annum dependent on experience and qualification. In addition, benefits include a company car, company paid healthcare (long service award applies), company pension and 22 days holiday (long service award applies) plus 8 statutory bank holidays.

The successful candidate shall also be given the opportunity to undertake further qualifications and the opportunity to develop within the role and within the company
