£130 – £190 per day PAYE

September 2021 – July 2022

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is holding QTS and recent teaching experience across primary.

The role 
Smart Teachers are recruiting for a full-time, DT Food Technology Teacher to work in a diverse Pupil Referral Unit in Tower Camden. The suitable candidate will be working with year groups from year 7-9. With this in mind, the successful candidate will ideally have strong behaviour management skills, a sound knowledge of the curriculum across secondary Food technology curriculum and the ability to adapt to year groups within the school day. The Successful teacher will be expected to take on all aspects of a class teacher role including planning and preparation. The role is likely to last the full academic year and is likely to roll into September 2022 on a permanent contract. This would be a fabulous opportunity for any class teacher who is experience in teaching Food Technology and has experience of working with students with SEMH and behaviour challenges.

The school 
The school has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and we have received extremely positive feedback from staff who have worked there before. Although there are some tough student behaviours, overall, the pupils are ambitious, enthusiastic, and simply require a positive rapport with their teachers. The team are friendly and welcoming, ensuring a community feel for all newcomers. Each class has a maximum of 8 students who are supported by a minimum of three specialist teaching assistants.

Requirements 
To be considered for the Food Technology Teacher, you must:

Hold QTS
Strong Behaviour management skills
Have recent experience teaching various year groups Food Technology.
Have recent or previous experience working in SEN or with SEN students
Eligibility to work in the UK (must have a valid visa)
