An exciting opportunity has arisen with a prestigious client of ours for an Electrical Assembly Technician to join their growing company. Our client is at the forefront of research and development with long term visions of implementing the newer environmental technologies of the future.
Your responsibilities and activities:
You will play a crucial role in their growing team and would have responsibilities for:
Production builds of electrical and electromechanical systems.
Provide high quality assembly expertise and knowledge of manufacturing methods.
The build and repair of PCBs including surface mount components to fault finding.
Work closely with the design and manufacturing engineers to develop new and improved methods of product assembly, manufacture and to assist the teams in finding solutions to engineering challenges.
Follow S.O.P's to ensure quality assurance and carry out the associated checks with meticulous record keeping.
As part of a small but fast-growing company you will be expected to have a hands on approach towards work. Your role and responsibilities may change therefore you'll to be flexible with your workload as outlined above. Required experience & skills:
To be suitable for this role you must have demonstrable knowledge, skills and essential experience in the following:
Have an interest in electronics, comfortable reading schematics, troubleshooting/repairing faults on digital and analogue electronic, and electromechanical equipment.
You should have good analytical skills with a logical approach to problem solving, be self-confident and able to work well within a team.
Experienced in the use of electronic test equipment as well as the assembly and soldering of PCB's, using through-hole and surface mount components (to 0402 size) is essential.
Awareness of ESD practices and handling of sensitive electronic components.
Experience in electrical control cabinet wiring and assembly with training and experience of working to IPC-WHMA-A-620 would be a significant advantage.
An ability to interpret and understand information contained within electrical and mechanical manufacturing documentation such as drawings, bills of materials, procurement and test specifications.
You should be comfortable providing technical assistance, support to customers and to the product development teams, to help continually improve products and manufacturing methods.Desirable experience & skills:
PCB and schematic capture design software experience.
EMC testing experience as well as experience of building electro-mechanical products to EMC best practices would also be a significant advantage.
Embedded programming (C/C++) experience and/or experience of microcontroller programming tools.
PLC programming experience. Education/Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 year's experience working in electronic/electromechanical product R&D or low volume manufacturing environment including significant previous assembly experience within a workshop, laboratory or manufacturing environment.If you believe you match the criteria above and feel you are the right candidate for the role then apply today by sending your CV
