As a result, we are looking to recruit a Digital Assurance Officer on a 24-month Fixed Term Contract to work within the Information and Communications Technology Department.
The Information and Communications Technology Department (ICT) has primary responsibility for service technical infrastructure and support. ICT has staff at a number of locations throughout the Organisation. The key functions of ICT are to provide and support such systems required by the staff of Public Health England (PHE), and to provide the technical infrastructure to enable all forms of corporate communication, both within the Organisation and between the Organisation and its customers and stakeholders.

Your ambition will be to deliver world-leading digital services to the public, to public health professionals, and to PHE staff. You will contribute to a fundamental shift in PHE's digital approach, embedding agile delivery methodology, a relentless focus on user needs, and the Service Standard. This is a new way of working for PHE, so you will play a central role in shaping the future of PHE's digital delivery, both within the digital team and across the organisation.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
●Help shape PHE's digital policy to deliver a digital first PHE
●With colleagues, embed a digital culture across PHE, with a focus on user needs and delivering services that meet the Government Service Standard
●Day to day management of PHE's digital roadmap
●Provide secretariat for PHE's internal digital governance
●Operate the digital spending control, so that all projects are quality assured and have the correct approvals
●Help tell our story through proactive communications work such as writing blog posts.
●Contribute to business planning and manage internal and external reporting for the team
●Build strong relationships with NHSX, Government Digital Service and Central Digital and Data Office
●Advocate for PHE's needs in cross-government digital activity
●Act as a strong advocate for digital solutions and approaches, within PHE and externally
●Act as an advocate for digital service transformation, promoting PHE's achievements and publicising learning
*Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
*Experience of delivering digital projects, especially projects that deliver digital transformation
*Experience of agile project methodologies and working practices
*Experience of embedding new ways of working
*Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and working on multiple projects
*Able to manage stakeholders both internally and externally
*Ability to produce clear and non-technical advice on complex issues, for non-specialist, senior audiences
*The ability to make effective decisions and recommendations

*People working with government assets must complete basic personnel security standard checks.
