Job Title – Business Development Manager
Location- Remote working some trips to regional offices in Northampton and Nottingham
Permanent – Salary up to 46K

The B+C Central Government team are looking to recruit a Business Development for a growing Government Department. This role is due to expansion within the team, the whole division will be doubling in size over the next year.
The business operates principally by consultancy model, setting up national frameworks for public sector organisations. The clients pay for these services to enable them to provide consultative procurement advice

The role:

The role reports into the Commercial Director and will foster a growth culture enabling the business to achieve challenging income targets and transform the way public sector engages with suppliers.

The postholder will be required to draw upon a range of sales and marketing experiences, across public sector environments, to promote and support growth of the CS frameworks and commercial services.
This role specifically has responsibility for generating income and growing the client base.
There will be a requirement to work locally, regionally and nationally across public sector organisations.
The role will involve strategic thinking, applying key sales techniques to create growth to ensure that clients and the market achieve exceptional outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

Identify and deliver new public sector income supporting the operating model and budget.
➢To act as key business growth lead. Supporting, engaging, influencing and building strong relationships across the public sector.
➢Influencing the alignment of key supplier and public sector markets to support the development of public sector as an intelligent client.
➢Maintain oversight and engagement with key supplier partners to identify business opportunities and ensure service standards are high.
➢Research, provide and present key business insights and metrics to clients, Leadership Team and Board, as required to demonstrate performance and opportunities.
➢Act as a catalyst for change supporting the growth of the model across the public sector, transforming how suppliers engage and business is delivered.
➢Support and lead on key market initiatives,
➢Develop quotes and proposals working closely with the Head of Finance and Commercial Director
➢Managing, populating, and tracking the opportunities database.
➢Working closely with the department Heads to ensure workflow and capacity levels aligned.
➢Representing the business across public sector, potential clients, and commercial events.

Experience and qualifications
Substantial knowledge and experience of a marketing and selling into the public sector.
➢Substantial experience of delivering client services on time and within business budgets, requiring strong organisation and project management skills.
➢Substantial experience of building and maintaining relationships with demanding clients and diverse supply markets with demonstrable achievements in developing creative solutions to generate new income.
➢Credible and demonstrable leadership qualities that can influence a wide spectrum of public sector procurement and finance teams.
➢Ability to work independently supporting the business and balancing income opportunities with true best value for the public sector.
➢Experience of developing creative income generation solutions to support company objectives.
➢Experience of providing creative solutions, challenging current thinking and trends by influencing clients and suppliers to change practices in the way public sector buys.

Qualifications
➢Sales and Procurement qualifications or equivalent experience in a fast-paced client service environment.
