Business Development Manager (Special Purpose Machinery)

The company

A leading manufacturing business based in Birmingham who specialise in cutting edge Automation projects, working closely with some of the world's leading businesses. After securing a number of long-term contracts with key customers, investing heavily in new machinery, new premises and having recruited a wealth of new staff, the company are now seeking a Business development manager to help drive their ambitious growth plans.

The role

A Business Development Manager is now required to help boost the company's profile and allow the business to open opportunities in industries which complement their cutting-edge technology.

You will take responsibility for:

Taking the lead on all sales activities
Development of existing customer base and existing markets such as the Automotive industry
Expansion of work within the Automated Warehousing sectors in which the company have several critical ongoing projects with key customers
Increasing revenue of company through sales within new markets/industries

What you need

It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:

Previous experience in a business development position within manufacturing industry is essential
Comfortable identifying and converting new business opportunities from customers
Must have experience in either machine builds (automation) or jig and fixtures sales/manufacturing, warehouse automation, FMCG/Packaging, and/or machine tools
Comfortable and experienced in managing and growing existing key accounts

Other DESIRABLE skills include:

Experience of Automation/Special Purpose Machinery/robotics industries

The company are willing to support any sales/business development manager's with an increased capacity to fulfil any sales requirements. Along with this, with the company having numerous sites nationwide, there is the opportunity to work closely with the other sites to develop and cultivate existing relationships which span numerous industries. You will also benefit from a salary of £40,000 – £60,000, complete autonomy to create and harness your own strategy & an industry leading bonus & commission scheme.
