Calling all Graduate Aspiring Primary School Teachers local to Islington

Are you interested in becoming a primary teacher in the near future? Would you like to work as a class Teaching Assistant (TA) in a school offering progression on to teacher training?

You will start your placement on the Aspiring Teacher Programme in September 2021. This will be a years worth of classroom based Teaching Assistant work, where you will enter a well structured school scheme to help develop your teaching skills and give you more exposure to what it would be like to have your own class.The school will help to build and nurture your ability with frequent meetings and guidance throughout the year. With the expectation that by the end of the academic year you will feel comfortable planning, preparing and delivering your own lessons. If successful, there will be the opportunity to embark on a fully funded Teacher Training programme with the school from September 2022.

You will be required to:

– Attend an assessment morning on the 15th June

– Start in September 2021

More about the role:

Primary classroom TA, your responsibilities will include:

– Classroom management

– Assisting the teacher with planning and preparation

– Supervising pupils during class based and extra-curricular activities

– Behaviour management

– 1 to 1 support and small group intervention work

Throughout the year you will be given more responsibilities in the areas you feel most comfortable such as;

– Taking lessons and covering lessons

– Planning and marking

– Extra-Curricular involvement

– Leading 1:1 and group interventions

– Undertaking CPD courses and training
